Video Encoding and Transcoding
Video Encoding is the process of converting analog
video, typically from VHS video tapes, to a digital format. Digital
video can be stored on a CD-ROM or DVD and may be copied to a
computer’s hard disk.
Transcoding is a process that converts digital
video to another digital format. Transcoding is used to convert digital
video from DV tape or DVD to the MPEG format when Synchronizing a
Transcript.
